wheel and brake upgrade

Sounds right to me, mine's a Dec '95 and I need the new rears
Had my name down for quite a while now, beginning to worry that the MOT's coming around fast. Don't want to buy new tyres, discs and pads just before the kit shows up!
crimson - what are you doing about yor rear upgrade first? Mine's a '94 and the brakes are crap but am put off the need to fart about upgrading first. If it's lengthy please e-mail throu' profile. Thanks.
If you don't absolutely have to get the spider style wheels then just upgrade the brakes and get some other wheels - they're a Ford stud fitting so the world's your ointment (offset permitting).
I've got 285mm 4 pot calipers/discs on the front of mine - the stopping power is now really good. The car feels a lot more settled even under moderate braking now the bias is towards the front of the car. I have std rear brakes - I don't think I'd want to go any bigger on the front without upgrading the rears to Griff 500 spec (Peninsular offer this I think).
For brakes try HiSpec Motorsport in Dartford (they have a website).

£400 extra!
Mine's in at T-V-R Services having a front brake upgrade done at the moment for that! I can get new 17" wheels + tyres and still have change from what the factory is asking (£1700 fitted, plus the £400).
Before anyone says anything, yes I know the factory is a 300mm disc upgrade plus the rears as well. £2100 is a lot of cash though. I can almost do brakes, Nitrons, Wheels and tyres for that...

Do tell...I am thinking of going for the upgrade (need tyres, and the standard brakes are just not good enough to inspire confidence).
Next upgrade would be Nitrons, so if I can do the lot cheaper then it sounds like a good bet.
I have ordered and am waiting for this upgrade from the factory for my Griff 500 and factory has indicated delivery at the end this month.I would appreciate any input from those who have already had it fitted on their dealer's time/costs for fitting. Also has anybody had the Nitron mod done at the same time and again what was involved

Can some on post some pictures of the wheel upgrade? I am getting close to swapping tyres now and need to start making a decision on what to do - have seen the others available and they look smart, but not the TVR upgrade.... anyone help?
Oh, and a comment on Nitrons - I had a BAD ownership experience with them. Didnt last long and therefore please either be warned, or consider alternatives....

Is that correct crimson? - £2100!
Think it's £1399 inc VAT for post '96, another £460ish +VAT for pre '96 cars
+ whatever you want to pay for fitting.

I still think's a good deal, not as brilliant as without the extra 460 quid! But I'm still going for it IF they can get it to me in a reasonable time!

That article says the quote is for post 1994 cars, so is it the start of 1995 onwards or 1996 as mentioned previously? I'm confused
Mine is a September 1994 Chimaera, so would I need the extra 'bits' as well?

I should think so, (unless it was built on the 3rd friday of the month when there was a full moon).
Mine has solid rear discs and the kit is for cars with vented rear discs.
Have a look at the size/type (vented/not) of disc on the back and call tvr to make sure.
