Twin blowers

I’ve got the usual 500 heater controls in the centre console which look good but are less than effective. However I found a new knob under the drivers side of the dash board last night and if I fiddle with this one I seem to get a second fan come on which blows cool air over the driver. V. Nice and cooling

Anyone else got one of these and what's it for ?
Don't mention it in my hand book

Have got this switch but mine turns of the dash lights!!!

I WANT ONE WITH A COLD AIR BLOWER.

I think you will find this additional switch was on some of the pre 1997 cars but not all, then changed to dash illumination.

It was occassionally fitted to some cars when they were made and retrospectively. Dropped on the later cars as its biggest contribution was jamming and burning out.

i fitted loads of these at HHC .. absolute pain in the wotsits to fit .. you knew you were going to be on your back with your head in the footwell, covered in fibreglass dust for the next 5 hours as soon as you saw the jobsheet ...

That'll be for putting on the second fan that blows cool air over the driver then....
