Yes, it was me!

Sorry, may have sounded great but I was a little ragged to say the least - first time on the track witht he Ult and first time at Silverstone! Boy was it fun though, loads and loads of power meant plenty of sideways!?# I can now see why slicks and a dry sump is cool. Didn't use 6th all evening but managed 160 (easily!)on the back straight. Boy does it go and the brakes are awesome! I heard that I rated number one on the noise front and number 2 on the flame-out front (3 foot at the end of the start/finish) - shame about the driver's performance but rated 11/10 in the enjoyment scale.

160 is pretty impressive. M12 was only at about 145. What engine/power do you have ?

I have some a pic of you leaving the pit lane if you want to mail me.

383Ci with 560/520 bh/lb. I would welcome some photo's. Did the M12's have slicks? My first time of seeing them, they look good. What were you in?

Only problem I had was dipstick came out (poor fitting) so on the rh corners I had a smoke screen behind me where the oil surged out onto the exhaust manifold! Not cool - but quickly rectified!

I was really pleased to go out with an instructor to my first session and this paid dividends to track positioning and braking points!

560!! No wonder you were quick.

Did you self build or is it factory built ? I must confess to being tempted a few times by an Ultima but wonder how it fares on the road ?

Factory built - 2.5 months old. They did a fantastic job.

It's fantastic on and off track (so long as you dont mind people staring at you). However, I forgot to reset the shocks when I left the track and wow what a difference - really hard (even on 'medium' setting)! The torque on the track is simply awesome, with the instructor shouting at me to constantly 'balance the throttle' through the corners (being used to less power I am so used to having to keep the power on!) so that the rear didn't overtake. But on exit, the ability to get the power down was simply magic. With normal road tyres, I was surprised with how little surface area there is on the track, with the fronts keen on breaking away when the power comes on through the exit, but with slicks I guess the lateral forces would be exceptional. The brakes are amazing, my passengers were peeling their noses off the screen and with slicks this thing could stand on its nose!

My first time on a track with an Ult (you can tell!), and boy could it bite back! Serious respect! I reckon I was at no more than 40% of its capability (shows how much I have to learn about this car!). I am pleased it wasn't weather like this!!!

Ah, the dreaded question, that no one ever answers.

I went for a high spec and ofcourse factory built, so it would be higher than many. It's also not an off-the-shelf acquisition. I think the Noble works out around £60k am I right? This thing is not cheap (but not miles off the Noble) but, as all the papers say, £ for £ for performance, nothing can touch it.

My best advice would be to speak directly to Ted or Richard (Directors) at the factory who will give you the no-bulls**t story in detail. Great guys to talk to, but don't go for a test drive as you will be hooked!!!

No, that was the problem with an evening, no time to stand, chat and admire. i would love to have seen some of the other motors. If you were are that end, you would have heard me miss a gear etc., on my second time out. As a virgin to Silverstone, Copse is a real scary corner!! Many a time I was enjoying the speed, only to realise that the red cone was a turning point and not a braking point!! the corner is well hidden!

Anyway, I sincerely hope to do many more days and spend time chatting with others!

Tell me, the Eucurie - forgive me I know nothing, but was it that black e-type-looking car that was going like stink? please direct me to a site if poss

Can't find much about the car but there's a bit of history here: www.carkeys.co.uk/features/FE000365.htm.

We'll be at Goodwood with it next weekend if you're going.

Will keep an eye out for you at future trackdays, those flames were superb...

That was the one! Yes, fastest on the night I heard. Umm, I also heard that you were seen leaving two black lines through the corners whilst under perfect balance - I had a friend of mine in a Ferrari. You certainly knew your way around (which is more than be said for me!)

I will be at Goodwood Fr & Sat, so will make point of looking out for you.

Can't take any credit for that I'm afraid! It was being driven by Barrie "Whizzo" Williams, who does know his way round Silverstone I just help out with it.

May see you at Goodwood!
