Without deleting my username & password or MSN Messenger itself (which is probably impossible knowing MS) is there anyway to stop MSN Messenger automatically signing in everytime I go online.

I do use it but only for registration type emails and it gets spammed and not my POP3 accounts.

In options --> General there is a check box that says:

"Allow automatic sign in when connected to the internet"

Uncheck it? The other way it to put your password in each time, but it's a bit extreme.

MSN Messenger 4.7 only has these 2 options that seem likely on the options section.

"Run this program when Windows starts"
"Allow the program to run in the background"

I want to run it, just not sign in.

I have 4.7 as well and just have "allow to run in the background" selected and it sits it in the system tray and just sign in as and when I want.

Did that, logged off the internet, logged back on and it signed me in automatically again.

BT Broadband is fed this evening and is dropping the connection every 5 minutes at the moment so it's driving me mad too.

If you go to File>logout, then go to sign in with a different account and enter your details (making sure that the "remember my name and password" checkbox isn't selected) then log in again and when you next restart it shouldn't log in automatically, however it also won't remember your details (obviously)
