I know that this has been covered several times but i cant find the particular bit in question.
Ive just started to get water running inside the drivers side down the bulkhead of my Chimaera.I took out the carpet on that side, resealed the obvious points in the engine bay but still the water runs in when i wash it.
Ive looked at the drivers footwell vent and the pipe seems to go in and out and then back inside the car towards the dashboard.Im sure that i read somewhere that this shopuld be completely sealed but this one is not...in fact is quite loose.
Anyone any ideas, seems to be in line (but behind) the steering column.

Also make sure you have a "pinch" in the door seal rubber about 10 cm back from the front.
This can be done with a sharp knife & a dab of superglue - this allows the water that runs round the seal to flow away, rather than eventually collect & seep into the car.
Seal all rivets in the engine bay too - eg VIN plate etc
It can be useful to draw a Vee with sealant above the brake fluid cylinder, so that water flows to each side of it.
Seal windscreen squirter tube exit points

Found it ......Found it
I couldnt believe it but it was indeed coming from the Brake Master cylinder seal.
Found it by a process of elimination with a hose pipe.
Funny thing was that it had loads of silicon sealer around it which looked perfect.
Pleased now that i can put the Drivers side carpet back in again.
