Has anyone looked into using a transmission from a 930 turbo 4 speed? I know the recommendation is a G50.

I was wondering what the issues would be with a 930?

Ask Ultima Andy, linkage is reversed so will have to make your own. Nice ratios though but go for the 4:1 diff not the lower ones, as the chevy needs all the high gearing you can get. Also will have to order the adaptor Kit and clutch from the states, ( Kennedy Engineering ) and will have to make your own gearbox mountings. But it does work works.

Good box, reputed to be one of the strongest (mine is good for 850bhp!), and it is shorter but best of all it allows for higher gearing as standard than the 5 or 6 speed ones due to the availability of a higher diff.

Bugger to fit to an Ultima though... you have to make your own gear linkage, change from a standard Porsche cable to an Ultima Hydraulic, source your own drive shafts and then make your own gearbox mounts....

Saying that if I can do it then anyone can.... and it gives me a 60mph 1st and a 212mph 4th, perfect for my engine and on track I only ever use two gears with a very ocashional shift into top on the really fast straights 150+mph.

Unless you really want this box or are going for mega power I would advise a 5 speed with amended ratios, no difference in price but much less hassle.

Guys what would the advantage of a 4 speed be over a 5 or 6 speed. I can understand a straight line performance, but is there a disadvantage on a circuit.
