We currently run Symantec Corporate Edition 10.1 but it isn't compatible with my new workstation running Vista Business.

We don't want to upgrade Symantec yet, not until we replace our server, so what options do I have?

I have AVG (the free one) running on my laptop, and it appears to work fine, but that is on XP Pro.

Any musings?

I will be getting my new laptop too next hopefully, so the same problem will exist.

The corporate AVG is good and doesn't hammer system resources like Symantec.

interesting. We find our deployed Symantec is excellent as it just runs in the background. Much better than their consumer offerings.

What are best options for single (or two as my laptop needs it too) license AV for 64 Bit?

All the options are on the AVG website.

We use AVG 8 on our own servers and desktops and also we use it on our customers as well. It just works. No loading issues. It just quietly does it's job and does it well. Available for XP, Vista, Server 2003/8 and SBS 2003 in 32 and 64 bit versions.
