My car runs very well but I want to check that the timing is ok.

I have the manuals that were produced for the US market and SH's Bible, but I cannot make out the range of the timing marks. I assume it starts at TDC. With UK idle no vac being 12 btdc and US being 9 btdc and the total advance being 21 - 33 btdc (weights and Vac)I'm quessing the full range of the timing marks is 33 degrees.
That would be sort of logical as on a larger pulley 1 degree eqauls about 1 mm and it's about an inch and a bit.

If someone knows what each notch equals I could stop guessing!
Thanks
Jeff

Can't honestly remember for definite, but I thought the marks showed something like 10 deg. ATDC to 10 deg. BTDC. Certainly the V8 is scaled like this: it's 3 years + since I worked on a V6...

Thanks to Gene Bird who had a more legible manual than me.
