What is it with this lot? The local owners seem to want to "race" whnever I'm out in the TVR...

Took the S home yesterday, and found one blipping his throttle at me at the lights..! eh? (left him for dust).

Coming into work today, bloody green one pulls in front of me as I'm accelerating onto the A12!!! Moves over once I flashed, gave him an evil and he shrunk into his seat...

..then later on another one (blue) was tailgating me in a 50 zone!!! - and I do mean RIGHT on my tail!

Anyone else get this? Used to be 1.6 MX-5's that did this, but the owners seem to have moved up to MG's now...

...they just wanted to see what the front of a TVR looks like in their mirrors...lets face it, they don't get that opportunity very often
makes a change from GTi's though eh!

Podie,

Yep mate had the same to me...if anything I find that when I pass someone they accelerate to keep up with me...whats the point? I guess in some cases they are just curious to look at the car so haven't got a problem with that. But its the tailgaters who are clearly just idiots and out to prove something...I've now learnt to just pull over and let them have their day as clearly it means so much to them to get passed a TVR!!! how sad....

Have not yet experienced said numptys in MGF's, although I'm not convinced it's an upgrade from a four pot Mazda.

Have had a couple of mini cooper wannabe's (the BMW ones) case in point on Saturday. He/She was sitting in the outside lane of the dual carriage way over taking nothing, I pulled up behind him, polite flash, and he decides to floor it.

Yep, despite my short time in ownership, I have also had MGFs and TFs tailgating me on the dual carriage way, or pulling up to lights and revving the engine. Mainly middle aged men actually???? Obavoisuly if I'm in the mood I dust them but usually I just let the overtake pull in front of me after which I then proceed to dust them.

I find that most car drivers do this! The tailgaters seem to think that if they can keep up with you then your car isn`t fast and its a pretend sports car. They dont realise that while they are screaming the tits of their car, your just plodding along. Silly gits!
