My door opening button (under wing mirror) is playing up, sometimes taking three or four pushes for it to operate the solenoid. I suspect dirty connections in the button. What is the procedure for getting to the button contacts? How difficult a job would this be?

On unsuccessful attempts, is there any sound from the solenoid? If so it'll be the solenoid that's faulty. To get to the switch you'll need to remove the mirror glass. Little leaver under & behind the glass. Use a screwdriver to slide this lever left or right (I forget which), then the mirror glass will fall away. Access to switch is then available. You may need to remove the outer door mirror shell. Screws inside hold this in place.

Hope this helps.....Bob

I had same problem so all i did was stick the straw that comes with wd40 under the mirror glass and gave it a good blast, right as nine pence ever since.. got to be worth a go!
