I am a Le Mans virgin but as you can guess from my rather amsuing topic heading I am booked into Houx for next year. I have a few questions which I would appreciate some help with.
Does each pitch get its own power supply (if not how do you keep beers/food cold)?
Are there any supermarkets locally (how far)?
Is it easy to drive in and out when the camp is full?
I have read that everyone goes into Arnage on friday evening. Is it far (walking distance)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Alan,

There are indeed power points on Houx - although not one per pitch! Either get there early (eg Weds eve, Thurs AM) and get yourself a power point or do what we did and plug in to someone elses 13 AMP socket in return for a case of beer.

Bear in mind that some power points can be a considerable distance from your pitch so I would suggest taking a reel of mains cable to make your own extension up. Also, you require a standard European 2 or 3 pin plug to connect to the power block.

At the other end, a normal UK 4 way adapter will do the trick and you've got about 6 amps to play with.

As to supermarkets, there is a large Carrefour nearby which sells everything you need in plentiful supply (read beer, charcoal and meat) although avoid driving there on Saturday AM as you will be queueing for some time to get back to the circuit.

Driving in and out of the campsite at any other time is no problem.

As to Arnage, I've personally not been but I reckon it's a fair hike on foot - about 4 miles I think altough I am sure I will be corrected on this by those who know.

Hope that helps

John

The walk isnt too bad to Arnage.
There are a few supermarkets that way too.

Previously we take our cool box out packed with ice and then buy a couple of bags of frozen peas over the weekend to keep it cool (if we cant find any ice).

The club arange help forum has some of the best LM camping and area info there is

Have the TVRCC started selling the tickets yet then? How are you booked there so early?

Thanks for your help.
Smiffy I got my tickets through Just Tickets and Motoring (01304 228866). Very nice looking P1 BTW.

Cheers - It's the D's B's. One of these days though I'm going to get a very very long ban.

Brew - Friday at Arnage is great but this year the rozzers shut it down . Not sure why but it was jammed most of the afternoon. Better to try smokin' yer wheels on the road between Camping Bleu and Maison Blanche
