I have a 330SE Tourer 2001 E46 which has the normal buisness radio cassettee but no cd player, the wires in the boot are all there as is the metal holder. The question is do I buy an original 6 disc changer off e-bay for about £100 or do I buy a Sony or Kenwood changer which has an adapter so that the original head unit will control it which will play MP3 files as well for about £120 ish also on E-bay. Has anyone else had any experiance with this?

Buy one off Ebay, but buy a BMW CD changer with a manufacture date of September 2005 or newer.

Then it will play MP3's but cost the same as a normal BMW one.

I did this - I bought 2 2006 CD changers for £80 each off Ebay. I then sold the original 2001 changers out of both E39's for £85 each on Ebay.

Now have mp3. And £10 of free money.

Not offhand, no. When I get my car back I'll get it for you.

This CD changer (65129112757) works fine in a 200 E46 328i.
