BMW Arctic Silver Paint
Discussion
Hey all,
I'm new here and hope someone can help out.
My mate has just bought a second-hand BMW 318i (N-Reg) which whilst not being the best beemer out there is certainly better than his old Rover 200.
Basically, it was a bit of a mess and now needs respraying and he's asked me to look on the interweb for a good place to buy paint. Him and his dad have all the gear and knowledge to respray it but the only place I can think of around here to buy the actual paint is the BMW Halliwell Jones dealership in Chester, who seem to just want to sell me a new car. There's loads of results on google, but they all just point to "touch-up" kits and people selling cars in that colour.
So if anyone can suggest some good websites (or even actual places in the Cheshire area) that will sell BMW approved paint pleae let me know.
Thanks.

The problem with any Silver paint is that the shade varies from year to year, and batch to batch.
It's not a case of buying 'Artic Silver', it's a case of having a bodyshop mix you up Artic Silver in the particular shade for the car in question.
Even then, it's almost impossible to get a correct match.

Thanks for the replies.
It's going to be a full respray so it doesn't need to be an exact match.
Currently it's that horrible mettallic blue with a slight hint of lilac, but several body panels have been replaced too.
As long as it's a vaugely in the right direction (as in a BMW "Arctic Silver" shade) I'm sure he'll be happy with it.
Just looking for ideas on prices, etc.
