OK, we all know the wipers on the S aren't... er... the best... however, mine REALLY do need replacing.

So, does anyone know what the wiper arms are from? The spring in the drivers one is knackered and at motorway speeds is starting to move about!

With regards to wiper blades themselves, has anyone got a recommendations? Nice cheapy light ones, or heavy duty metal Bosch type ones... and with or without spoilers?

Any wiper geeks out there?

I had one of mine break last year. Guess what, they don't make them any more. Harrogate Horseless eventually managed to butcher a Chimera wiper arm and make it fit. I posted a thread on this a while back, I'll see if I can find it.

Just read and it isn't a lot of use I'm afraid

i admit I didn't try to hard to find a relplacement as the car was going into service anyway. I just got the impression from HHC that they were no longer avaialable so let them sort it out. I will try and have a look at the pug ones for future reference.

Depends on what they fitted, I have seen some Pugs with very similar wiper arms (the later plastic ones s3c etc) but you know how it is with these things!.I have got metal Bosch Astra G (latest shape) blades with spoilers on my S2 and they seem fine

cheers

I bought Bosch wipers for my S3 and they are great I think they are standard 16" and they cost about £12.00 from Halfords.
I have also replaced the wipers on my Girlfriends Escort with Bosch and they also work perfectly. They only cost a bit extra than the cheaper versions but I'd rather pay a bit extra than have the wipers squeak all the time

Wiper blades are not as much of an issue... it's the arms I need to sort..

Also just bought Bosch 16" wipers with spoilers and they make a big difference, the wiper blade now touches the screen from end to end when moving!
