Anyone know where I can get a new/second hand one of these without spending a fortune?

Is yours missing or just a bit err....floppy?

They can be re-tensioned.

Looks like they've got THREE Sportwagons in for breaking!

End had broken off and very floppy. Its now in a skip. Tried every ebay listing and no luck, they have all sold these - very popular!

Same problem with mine. Might see what the ebayers have left for other parts though, can never have too many spares for an Alfa......

When you say the end has broken off....what's broken? Can you post a picture?

Not really, its in a skip. There were 2 plastic caps, one on each end and one had fallen off. I tried all sorts of ways of fixing it back on but it always comes of again. Thus exposing 4 very nastly looking metal points that could spear my baby daughter nicely in the face if we were ever to crash - hence its in a skip!

£260 for a new one from Alfa, no chance!

From memory it's easy enough to fit them again...but that's not much use to you now frown

Ah Ha!
The one known as Wrinx, appears to have the knowledge! These load covers / cargo do-dahs, whatever, look as though they were born to break. Thing is ,they also look vaguely mendable. On the Sportwagon I have just bought on impulse, offside end has popped off, covers out and slack, and two long rods protruding. Black screw attached guides seem knacked. Can parts be bought? This must be a common problem; any detailed ideas?
