Last week the passenger window failed (in up position, thankfully). Then on Thursday, first rain in ages and everything goes bananas! I came home to find the car was trying to start itself (start up message, tacho and speedo swing around, all the little lights etc.) and then shut down every 15 seconds. had to leave it all night like this then get the AA to tow it to Mole Valley. They say there was 'water in the door ECUs' and that this caused it. I'm skeptical, will pick up at w/e and see. Anyone else had this?

I have just had a similar problem with my Tamora. I have diagnosed that the 'up' switch is permanently on. I have removed wires from the window motor to stop it burning itself out (it was getting very hot) and I am waiting for the dealer to get a new switch (hopefuly for Sat am). Like you, glad it is fixed up rather than down.

The window switch buttons on the dash stick very easily. Lots of people have had problems with them, and replacing them is the best option - the alloy switch plates are about £70 each! Get the dealer to replace them under warranty to save any hassle.

good news and bad news. bad news - it happened again yesterday. had to try to drive home with the passenger door open! good news - now i think i know what happened. mole valley found a leak from the bulkhead down the wiring and into the fusebox. hence the weird electrics. good job steve and paul (i hope)
