It looks quite nice, particularly with the cut down screen and "headrests" but personally i'd have preferred it if it had kept the cage & race spec. Good for the Ginetta Speed or Club series?

Nothing to do with me, i hasten to add, but I might keep an eye on it, just in case its a bargain!! I wonder what the reserve might be?

What Ginetta was it? It's gone - says invalid item.

It was a G27 ex-race car (advert said) but looked like it had a G20 windscreen and G20 interior (as in it had the central pod of instruments).

Here it is -

Ah, I did see that last night while on ebay. Wonder what comment he made for ebay to remove it?

Actually looks quite nicely finished - wonder why he's gone for a flyscreen. Or come to that, why not finish the car to get better price?

untidy and dirty enginebay...rusty suspension arms...rest looks ok...some electrics look a bit "for ever temporary".

depends on the reserve the car might be ok for the price or not.

Underbonnet may be a bit tatty with surface rust but that would cost little to put right providing zetec is running fine. Bodily and paintwork look fine (in photos) so no expense to find there. I just wonder why with seemingly little to finish, why he hasn't?

Note some paint overspray on n/s chassis tube and wishbone... yellow! Bet that was the original body colour - was very popular at one time.
Need to ask Trevor Pyman for history.

Like you say, if reserve is not high, worth looking at.

I quite like the fly screen myself, but none too practical as a road car, I guess. I asked if the original race stuff was still available - the cage etc but it isn't. Its still up at £2600 but not reached reserve.

Seems desperate now, he's said reserve is 3.5k. Something not quite right methinks, but could be wrong...

chekced again the advert...the buyer is from france...so he sure wont present himself in this forum....french people normally do not speak english...

anyway...a ginetta from 1996 cant be registrated in france (officially...)
