Have done a quick search and some of the stuff is quite old now so thought I would get an up to date view...
We currently run a 50th anniversary Disco(1) Tdi and it has about 135K miles on. Had it from nearly new so think the poor thing should be put out to grass and replaced. May keep it as a Dump runner etc as practically worthless it seems.
So; we are looking at replacing the venerable old girl (aka Deb's skip) for another landy. Looking at possibly a Disco3 TDV8 or maybe a slightly earlier (new shape) RR with the bigegst engine known to mankind and an LPG conversion.
We expect to do 12K+ miles pa so hence the LPG or TD.
Any ideas?
