Hi chaps.

A couple of years ago I took the roof off the old girl and put on a Trakkers mohair truck cab roof.
Taking the roof off also meant I lost the interior light, stereo speakers which were mounted in the head lining, and aerial - a little rubber thing mounted on the roof.

Its not a big deal but I think as it looks like I might have finally found a solution for replacing the interior light I should think about sorting out the speakers and an aerial.

So here's me being awkward.

I don't want speakers mounted down near my knees. I'm tall and have difficulty getting comfortable as it is - mainly due to the handbrake lock I've got fitted, so I can do without something making my right knee uncomfortable too!

I'm thinking about CB external monitor speakers mounted on the small lip halfway down the bulkhead behind the seats. These are generally bracket mounted and of the pod style so they should be tough to withstand things being dropped behind the seats and hitting them. But I'm not sure if they are powerful enough.
What do all the other guys with canvas tops do? Is there some way of fitting them above your head - to the hood sticks maybe?

Also an aerial. I don't want to drill a dirty great hole in the wing top so where else could I mount a radio aerial? It will need grounding I guess - is this just something attached to earth or something more substantial - or am I confusing CB aerials with radio aerials?

I don't have internal or external roll bars. Only the 1st and 2nd hood sticks. So nothing to attach to there. Although I photographed a nice simple rollbar - not fixed to the chassis or anything but more substantial than hoodsticks - at Billing at the weekend which would replace hoop #2, so I could get it made and have brackets put on it.

Thanks for your help

My rear load bay is outside phib - it's now a truck cab.
I've been thinking and I might be able to put a couple of plates - one over driver and one over passenger which bridge across both hoops - rivetted in maybe - and a speaker can be inset into the plate.
Effectively creating mini headlinings in the hoops but made of ali plate or something.
I could also put a lip on the edge of one of those plates and fit the aerial horizontally onto the lip.

How about a pair of MX5 seats, but from an imported Miata or Eunos - lots of these had speakes in the headrests - so placing a sterio source just where it's needed! Almost like 'remote' headphones! Worth a shot?
