IDLE ON ROVER V8
Discussion
If it's a hotwire EFI then the idle speed is controlled by the ECU via a stepper motor on the offside rear of the plenum. There's also a base idle adjuster on the side the the throttle body, which is just set to keep the idle speed within the range of control of the stepper motor. Also check the throttle is closing completely and no air leaks.
If its a flapper, one screw for idle next to the throttle plate. On the top, requires flat head screwdriver, and is a fairly fine adjustment per revolution.
Ed:
Also, is there a little slack at the start of the throttle movement? If not, it might just be the throttle isn't returning fully.
According to the book, you should be able to fit a 0.05mm feeler gauge between the throttle butterfly and the bottom of the intake.
