Been having a look at these online yesterday, really quite impressed, espcially with the Type R engine in place.

Pricey seem scary HIGH though......

Anyone got one? I can't seem to find any used ones for sale so maybe there aren't many about. Shame as it looks good, but Marlin compare it to a 7 replica as an alternative, but spending over 20k for one seems a bit steep considering what else is out there in the kit car market.

Have you had a look at one in person? Pictures always seem to make it look like an aggressive racer, but in the flesh I thought it looked more like a dumpy, badly proportioned "thing".

£20k. So much you can get for that kind of money, you really would have to be an enthusiast to spend that much on one.

Nah haven't seen one in person yet.

I was looking at Robin Hood's and came across them by accident, I quite like the theme and ethos but the price even in kit form it OTT in my opinion, espcially when compared to the likes of the GBS Zero.

Shame really as I initally thought I was on to a winner.

What do you actually get for that much? Is that for a complete car, all new parts, or what?

Yeah that was a turnkey I think, but not sure on spec. Even in kit guise it still seems a heck of a lot of money.

You can pick them up fairly cheap, there are a couple listed on Madabout,

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/kitcar/kitcar_deta... (look near the bottom of the page and click on the thumbnail images for the ones for sale)

£4950 for a basic one and £7k for a turbo

There are a few Type R builders on the forum

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/forum/forumdisplay...

I think one or two are over the £20k mark already eek

Umm it doesn't look bad but not quite me. Also only 1.4 and at £17k + VAT it's no cheaper.

I seriously considered one and visited the factory. There seemed to be loads of issues with the car, such as gel coat, suspension, driveshafts for the Type R,delivery timescales etc. The factory Type R demo does look good, but I considered it to amount to too much money and grief to build and worthless if I wanted to move it on.
