Having spend a couple of weekends under the car trying to work out what the exhaust was rattling on when driving over bumy roads I discovered it was the rear pads rattling in the callipers
The received wisdom on this suggested that it would be best to stick the pads to the piston - the difficulty is in finding the right product. You need something that will work at high temp but also can be freed without too much effort when you need to change them.
i couldn't find any double sided tape with that sort of specification so thought I'd try thread lock ast that works at high temp and is supposed to come undone if you want to take it apart - complete success - just smear a bit on the back of the pad and sit with your foot on the brahe for 10 mins, leave it for an hour or so after fitting - its completely solved my problem and I have tried getting them out and refitting which isn't too difficult. - hope this helps anyone with a similar problem

while I'm on I've got a partworn SO2 255x35x18 (about 60% tread left) - I'm open to ofers if it helps somebody out with a punture rather than buying a pair of new TOYOs at £176 each like I had to.

Might try that myself. I've got a problem where my pads & discs get warm and keep sticking i.e. driving along creating a chorus of squeal not nice.

Which thread lock product did you use ?

where did you buy them? you can get them online for 142 quid each and your local tyre fitters will put them on for about 8 quid a corner.... not a huge difference but a 50 quid saving on 2 tyres
