Anyone came across the problem of sourcing the correct brake master cylinder for a 89' S2 ?

Mine is lying in the very late stages of rebuild and this is holding up completion. One sourced from the dealer is apparantly correct for 90% of S2's but if fitted to mine the reserviour would be upside down. The dealer has checked around their sources with no luck so far and with the factory just getting back from holiday they are not proving very helpful either.

Also when im on, anyone know where the seatbelts come from or suitable alternatives of the same type ?

regards Jim (without a blue S2)

Yes, I had a similar problem sourcing the master cylinder for my '90 S2 some years ago. I got one through Richard Thorpe, of Wedge Automotive. It took him some time to find one, but he persisted, and in the end I believe it was from a Saab 99 - the 60's rear-engined one I think.

I don't have the TVR any more, ditto the paperwork or I'd have a look for a part number. But I had it fitted by my local garage with no problems and the brakes were 100% again, so I'm sure it was right - assuming yours is the same, of course.

If it is that part but you can't find one, mail me as there used to be a small Saab specialist not that far from here, but it's outside of my Yellow Pages area so I can't look him up - I dont even know the name of the lane, but used to pass it occasionally and can drive out there sometime.

Hope this is of some help, good luck.

Wedge Automotive has now changed its name to RT racing (Richard Thorpe) not sure if he is online, last time I looked it was still under wedge automotive.
