I guess the Vantage sat nav hasn't got speed camera data. So...what solution have people adopted to warn of the yellow boxes, the idle copper with a laser gun, etc? The car I'm getting used to have a Road Angel hard wired in apparently - is that an option anyone is using on the Vantage?

Having just splashed, the last thing I want is to get done for 'exuberance' when taking it out for a spin....

I rely on my open eyes, my sixth sense, and other drivers flashing if a scamera van is hiding....famous last words!

If you have an electric garage door i would get one of those electric garage door openers hardwired in permanently behind the grill for a couple of hundred quid - sorted, no more worries about laser man

then just keep your eyes open for yellow boxeswink ...thats what I do anyway !

i have just bought a vantage myself and i will be installing my pogo alert that i had installed in my TVR previously... i run a company selling these devices so if you want to send me a email i can best advise on all camera units and laser jammer if required..

If it doesnt have a tracker, you could use Trackstar and kill two birds with one stone.

Good thought but it does have a tracker, a horizon, already.

Tomorrow's the day! Will take it easy for the first few miles...

NB off-topic, i posted a question outside the Aston board, an innocent enquiry about speed cameras, and got a right load of sarky comments. The Aston PH-ers are a much more friendly bunch!

HI Fella

The satnav is a bit Pooo really as it is a (and I hate saying this) Volvo unit frown I can just imagine the dork in Aston with his little top man suit making the decision to use Volvo parts in an Aston! Anyway the best Anti speed camera device by FAR is this one here

This is what most of the guys use in Gumball and Cannoball and I myself also use it. I drive with inpunity and a smile on my face (not to mention relaxed as you should be when driving) But then as I live in (free) Europe and not totalitarian England I dont worry about speed cameras anyway now smile

Mark..

PS

Of course this does not stop the old rearward camera untit

How does the garage door opener work!! If you had one in the car not wired up would it still be effective!

Hardwired garage door opener!!! Bogie, are you are saying that the signal that is left open will block the radar? Will that work with an electric gate remote as well?

Guys the BIG problem with using anything other than a professional unit is that they (the copper) will know he has just been jammed! The unit I have shown you will not give his gun a jam code just a fail to aquire code! This is very important! Of course you will have been alerted your unit will be now turned off and you will have slowed down by the time he aquires you again smile
