I'm looking to buy an S3 for a girlfriend and want to know what the market is looking like out there for the S3 - she wants one fairly new late 2007/2008 plate, happy with standard spec but would like sat nav (but happy to have without), all other options though she would see as a luxury and not a prerequisite. i.e she wont pay through the nose to have these - my experience when selling cars in the past has been that the dealers tell me I lose pretty much the value of options and these only help maintain the base price of the car come selling time! Dealers seem to be quoting close to list for these cars, is that about right and any ideas what sort of discount a dealer will offer in the current market place? Any help/guidance or thoughts much appreciated.

Cheers

I found there's quite a few to choose from on the dealer network (I had the choice of 4 that fitted my spec, losely). They were quite open to some negotiating and I got a few grand off what they were originally asking.

Mate of mine ordered one with all the toys about 4 months ago. Seemed like he got a fairly hefty discount. £34k down to £30k I believe.

I've done a few hundred miles in the thing and I quite fancy one too now, excellent car.

Not sure about discounts on a new one but the nav can be retrofitted for about 1500 quid if you decide you want it further down the line.

Had a 2007 S3 and had sat nav, cruise control and rear parking sensors retro fitted by Hazzydays for about £1000. I part ex-ed at a dealer for a TT, and dealer said it was good to have these options for selling. I didn't say they had been fitted after I bought the car, but Hazzydays use all Audi parts and do a great job.

that is an amazing website, didnt think it was possible to have auto wipers and lights fitted. Bit pricey though.
