I am thinking about potentialy selling my 90 as I am not using it and am thinking about a caterham but have no idea what its worth any views ? seen soft tops on autotrader from 5k -12k !!!!

1997 300tdi 90 soft top 97,500 miles

Jan 2008 ( £1800) service bill including full service, new disks, pads, brake lines, shocks, full waxoil, no chassis rust, new rear cross member and loads of other parts !!

May 2008 New Full sand soft top with side windows, New Sand bikini, New Full hoodsticks, New rear step, New side steps, new modulars with BFG Muds, New snorkel, new chequer plate, new roll bar ( approx £2000)receipts for everything

Done about 200 miles since service and all work done !!

Few dents but nothing major drives better than my old td5

Any ideas on value ?

What its worth and what people seem to pay for them do NOT line up. Looking at the 110, i cant find any in a reasonable price range!

Well having taken the roof off today and been out and about in it I am not sure I really want to sell it !!!

Added to that it seems all doom and gloom in the second hand market so god knows what its worth !!

Oooh! Very nice, I'm sorry I'm not in the market for it, I'd have it in a shot

Got to be worth at least 7-8k? Possibly as much as 10 if its perfect

Purely a guess, I haven't kept myself up to date with Defender values

I dont know about ramblers but I almost ran over one of those gwizz thinks the other day !! It couldnt stop comming down a hill too fast on a country lane it was about the same height as my bonnet !!!

Re the caterham or defender thing I have promised mrs phib I wont add another car until i have bought here a new one but in thoery I can substitute one for another !!!!!

If things are as bad as everyone is making out I think I will wait for winter then buy the caterham should be worth about 50p by then !!!

Thanks
Phib

Depends what you want really. The LR will be capable of doing more and probably offer similar thrills and fun. Just won't be as fast. smile

Honestly?

You've just spent 1.8k I wouldn't sell it too quickly after that.

Plus it is quite old now, along with the mileage I'd personally say nearer 5k. Sorry.
£5k???

I'm surprised, I doubt you'd be able to replace it for that money. Defenders hold their money very well.

Just been on Autotrader and to buy something of similar age would cost you between £6000-7000 easy. And none are full tilt.

But are they selling? I'm getting the impression at the moment that lots of people are not getting what they hoped for anything.

I agree its turbulant times, however at such an age it'll cost the same to tax as a 1.6 Corsa and shouldn't be too bad on fuel either.

If it won't sell for over £6k I suspect you'd have no easier time selling it under £4k.

But who really knows, all you need is one person who wants it and has the money.

The pic is a bikini top. The full tilt will cover the back and sides. Think of the bikini as a sun shade style top, very hand to stop sun burn but still be in the open.

Ah yes the tent its actually an extended bikini keeps the sun off and the rain off and takes less than 2 mins to take off and put on

The full soft top looks like this ( the black one with side windows)

And I was comparing it to this one ( where the guy must be having a laugh !!)
