A 917/30 was a Can-Am variant and very different in looks to the classic 'Gulf' type Le-Mans 917/K.
You're correct though it was one of the most powerful race cars ever built with 'flash' peak power of 1450bhp from a flat 12 twin turbo of around 5.3 litres although 1100 was race trim, sponsored by Sunoco and with a blue and yellow livery, wicked things.
BMW Turbo era F1 cars produced somewhere in the region of 1300bhp in qualifying trim so probably had higher ouputs particularily as they were only 1500cc
