Been to look at it a few times, test drove it today, and struck a deal. Pick it up next week!

So, whose the best insurance company to go with?

Another with Elephant, were the cheapest for me.
Let me guess, you were umming and ahhing about it when you saw it on the forecourt, thinking it wouldn't be nice to drive, slightly too expensive on fuel etc etc. Then as soon as you pulled away in the test drive all you thought was 'SOLD!!!!!!!'

I'm guessing because thats exactly what happened to me! hehe

I'll load some pics next weekend, it's a real dark shade of silver, more like gunmetal really. It's a 2005 CV8, with the nostrils in the bonnet though, and performance exhaust. Appart from that it's totally standard. Really nice muted exhaust note and great to drive!

Likewise, both on the purhcase and using Elephant as well.

I even phoned them to find out the increase to my premium to get the switchable exhaust package and shock horror, it would put my premium up by £31!!!! So that's not really an issue in terms of getting more toys at a later stage either.

And check your cover, but my cover, without asking, has class 1 uk business cover and social european cover as well.

I was most pleasantly surprised.

A-Plan here. Also only a minimal increase due to the exhaust and remap.

Sounds like the exact same story of when I bought mine. Well done on the purchase. I'm sure you'll love it as mush as the rest of us. Will be interested in seeing pics. Not heard of a dark grey one. I'm with Greenlight insurance. Elephant wouldn't touch me when I listed the mods. I don't know why. I was 29 with 4 years no claims at the time and everyone else seems to have had no bother.

Welcome

Cheers Tempy......The official colour is Evoke Silver, but it looks kinda Gunmetal to me. I'll give Greenlight insurance a go.......

All youve got to do now is a)get your exhaust note louder! b)get yourself down to the Kent Sussex and Surrey (Switch, for you) next meet, soon to be announced. Welcome to the loudest (it's official) club in the UK.

Congratulations on the purchase Dave...don't think you'll be disappointed.
On the insurance front I'm with Elephant too.

Sounds like yours is Odyssey Blue which is a Monaro colour...

As uk hsv said, Evoke is a VXR8 colour...

Enjoy....!

Elephant will cover some mods like the exhaust but they won't cover superchargers. Best go to A-Plan or Adrian Flux if you plan to add lots of stuff.

When my engine is finished Odyssey WILL be the fastest colour cool

Congratulations, hope you enjoy it!

Cheers Stigmund.......only 7 days until i go and pick it up!smile I'm nervous and excited, it's got 200bhp more than my current car, i've had Ford RS's, 3 litre Capris etc in my youth (and even a couple of 'low end' yank tanks) but the Monaro will be the ultimate for me i think!smile
