Depends if you're going trade or private sale. You might get lucky and find someone who just wants rid, or you might not - all depends on the car and the seller.

How long is a piece of string...

Provide specs/age/mileage and how long the advert has been up and someone may offer help.

Just tell the vendor that there is a credit crunch on, and you'll get it for £12k

Or wear him down with some asianesque haggling for 4 hours. He'll probably give you the car to get rid of ya

You've cleary tried to sell a car recently!

Despite puttin in my add "I'm selling out of choice, not depseration" I had guys e-mailing offering 70% of asking price. Get real fella's. As I pointed out, I'd rather run the car in to the ground than sell it to some cheeky oik for £5k+ less than market value.

If you want to haggle, make sure you know the cars and the market well, use weak points to negotiate, and keep it friendly. You dont want to offend (though first offer should probably be close!) and remain realistic.
