What Mark V Golf's have a roof mounted aerial as standard?

Have just bought a 2005 2.0 GT TDI . Mine does not have the roof mounted aerial.
Was this an extra or what?

I have the R32, mine is on there.. not sure if its an option or not?

think it depends on what stereo/cd combo it has.

I know mine didn't have one, but current GTi does

I think some of the earlier GTIs have the aerial in the rear window which I believe suffered from bad reception and therefore replaced with a roof mounted "bee sting" aerial. Some of the units with Sat Nav fitted have "small stumps" in the roof

1st January 2006 onwards, Mark 5 Golfs had the aerial fitted to the roof.
Prior to that fitted in the rear window, like mine, but the reception can be poor.

My 2004 MK5 Golf doesnt have an aerial which i thought was odd, but radio reception is fine when i listen to it. I think the car looks better without an aerial.

Not strictly true, change was for model year '06, deliveries of whihc started May 05

i've got a 2004 2.0 TDI with built-in sat nav, came with a 'shark fin' aerial. looks really cool

Of the heated rear windows available for the Mk V, one had an antenna built in. This window has been obsolete for quite some time now.
