MKV Golf GTI Buyers Guide ?
Discussion
Hi All,
Is anyone able to point me the direction of a good MkV Golf GTI buyers guide ?
I've currrently got my Skyline up for sale in the classifieds as I've decided after 5 years it's time for a change of car - as the Skyline gets barely any use.
I've been trawling the net but all I've managed to find so far are on-line magazine reviews and no useful buying guide.
I keep checking back at the GolfGTIForums - but they seem to have been down most of this week, so not sure if there is anything useful on there.
Any advice greatfully received.
Cheers,
Daz

Yes, look on Parkers website www.parkers.co.uk and navigate through to the Golf GTI section, on there you will find a 4-5 page buyers guide thats pretty good, its got all the specs on there too, i found it useful anyway when buying mine!
Nothing much goes wrong with them.
- Check the electrics, check the leather seats for wear/damage (drivers' especially).
- Check it has been serviced regularly (turbo engine likes fresh oil).
- If a 3 door check the fit of the door - factory had problems getting the fit & finish right on 3 doors.
- 18" wheels are pretty, but corrode/can be a b1tch to repair if scraper.
- Paint attracts stoneships easily - so you should be able to spot a motorway car.
- Oh, and the welds halfway along the upper half of the door inside bit is normal. Not a cut 'n shut.
Lots for sale, so take your pick of the best.
