Well on Friday myself and Mrs 49 hit the old dusty trail upto Surrey to have a fetures shoot for Autocar.
We drove upto Chobham at 12.30 to be greeted by a rather imaculate 350Z followed by a Tuscan and finally a boxster S, it was clear the liz was up against some stiff competition!
A smiley fellow by the name of Matt turned up who is the features editor for Autocar and after some petrolhead banter it was off for some lunch with the hot hatch shoot that had just finished.
Post fry up we were wisked away to a disused MOD site near Chertsey for the photos. The young photogapher was a master of his art, you'd be amazed how much planning goes into the simplist shot. Not to give too much away but I'm confident the finished shots are going to be something special.
This was followed by a short country road run to get some road going photos, I have never driven round a roundabout so many times trying to get the apex and the perfect "liz cornering" picture!
Dizzy and confused I took Matt out so he could asess the liz and conduct an interview. He was stunned at how good a 10 year old liz felt having lost none of its feel or response, this coupled with the Tiv driver comenting on my exhaust note made the day some what special!
I have no idea how the "used sports car for under x" article is going to conclude but I can confirm that at the end of the day they were using the TVR to follow the elise and get some rear on road shot's! Read into that what you will!
Brilliant experience and the article will be out mid to end of August so keep your eyes open, if nothing more I understand there will be a shot of my partners clevage in our owners portrait and my wind swept mug!

Chobham is a great place, I worked there for 3 years. Had countless vehicle airbourne off the gradient slopes and the Vogue LSE Range Rover was good fun in the snow on the slip pad..
Playing Golf in the middle of the test track was a nice way to wind away a lunch hour (or two
)
Few facts about the site:
In the original Batman film with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson the Batmobile driving through the woods on the way to the Batcave with Kim Basinger asleep in the passenger seat was filmed through the hilly course in the trees..
McLaren F1 road car lapped, from a standing start, the 2 mile course in less than 60 seconds, average speed of over 120mph!
The gradient slopes are incredible, I think it's the 1 in 3 slope is impossible to walk up, but you'd think 15degrees would be easy!
Great fun place though, had some real laughs working there..
