Morning all

I currently have a 330ci Sport coupe and need something bigger and have seen a nice 2001 S4 Avant close by. Now I know nothing about Audi's as I've driven BMW's most of my life. Is there anything I should be looking out for on this particular model? It has 77k and full history. Going to view it this evening.

Thanks

With 77k on it wouldn't surprise me if it had had a new clutch already, just a few little bits to watch out for:

Tyre wear - they are heavy on the fronts and it's fairly normal for the outside shoulders to wear first. Nothing out of the ordinary if they are but a useful bargaining point anyway.

Auxilliary radiators - one behind each foglights, look for stains where coolant has evaporated. They've probably already been changed at this mileage anyway.

I thought it was the B6 S4 that suffered with this? or is it both?

Doh! That'll teach me to read the post headache

For a B5 have a look on RS246 and read as much as you can, there was a pretty good buyers guide in PPC magazine a couple of months ago. If you'd like it drop me an email with your snail mail address and I'll get it out to you.
