After two wonderful years - i'm selling my beloved Monaro VXR to move onto pastures new. This is the actual car that was featured on BBC Top Gear back in 2005, with Kazama from the D1 drifting team and a very scared Richard Hammond as a passenger!

I bought the car direct from the Vauxhall press fleet - in case your wondering!

Its listed on eBay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl

If you, or anyone you know, are interested please take a look!

Thanks

Dan

If you don't mind me saying "There is no way I would advertise a car and display as you have" As the last two posts point out, this tells you the car has been used very hard right up to its limits., prob by more than top gear as ex-press demo car yikes. It's not that it's been owened by any one famous. That's just my thoughts; I would run a mile in the other direction.

My old VXR was the sister car to this one, owned by Vx.

I was very wary that the car had been a press demo car, but.... I got it a bit cheaper, it was handpicked off the production line as being the best of it's class and Vx promised to look after me in a 50/50 warranty issue.

I had no problems whatsoever with mine; Not all press cars are dodgy... although mine wasn't featured getting its back doors kicked in on national TV

I was not running down ex-press demo cars ! Just that I don't think it is the right way to promote the sale of his VX. As you pointed out, you were a little wary too, would you had purchased this VX from this ad ? I defiantly would not.

I totally agree with you - maybe not the cleverest way of advertising the car.

Havn't all VXR's been driven hard at some point in their life!?!?

Seriosuly though - the car was in great condition at purchase - I had access to every service report (the car seemed to get pretty much rebuilt after each outing with the press) and was almost certainly in better condition that most 1 year old VXR's by the time i got my hands on it.

We'll see what happens - not sure how good the market is for Monaro's in the current climate?
