hi all,

my car is due an inspection 1 very soon.

when reading what gets done on an inspection 1, aside from a few extra checks, air filters and spark plugs dont get changed until an inspection 2!! (that would be ~60k or 8 years on time based servicing)

my car is a 54reg 316i with 22k which gets 50% m way and 50% town driving... question is should i also get plugs and air filter changed at the same time?

The plugs would easily make 80-100 k the NGK plugs like most are longlife, also the air filter will still be good.To be sure you can always check the filter.
Personally I would say leave it,its a waste of money-Im a specialist and wouldnt try and sell you something that isnt needed.

As the efficiency of the air filter deteriorates with time, and they only cost about £10, I would change the air filter anyway. As for the plugs, they are fine but I would still change them anyway around 48k miles together with the fuel filter.
The last thing you need is a plug stripping the thread at 100k miles trying to get it out for the first time.
