Setting up blue tooth phone?

I've recently got a new mobile and I need to configure the phone to my beemer (a 330). When I bought the car, 18 months ago, the dealer set up the blue tooth hands free kit to my old phone (I'm a technophobe).

So, I've since got a new phone (Apple iPhone 3g) and the manual says "refer to other manual". Needless-to-say, I can't find another manual. I fiddled with the car this evening and I'm damned if I can suss it out! So, does anyone know what I need to do in order set up my new phone with the hands free kit in the car?

I'm doing this off memeory now, but, its something like this...... (assuming your phone is compatible).

1)Turn on the BT on your phone
2) Key in ignition, to poition two...
3) press and hold for a few seconds the button in the car on the handset cradle (like the button at the front of this pic)

This 'should' get the car searching for new BT bits
4) When prompted, enter the pass code in your phone hand set and Robert's your mothers brother
