In the world of beautiful cars, Aston Martin's hold a special spot nowadays in most peoples hearts. Their sleek designs, and 60's inspired grills combined with high quality interiors and fantastic engine noise culminate to produce cars that ..... well struggle to meet up to some of their competition. Ferrari and Lambo offer italian passion and blistering performance, the germans approach this market with confidence that big performance with convenience will trump the others. And then the Brits show up with a cruiser, that has some trouble keeping up with Axis powers. But the Aston is always more composed on the roads, better looking, at times better sounding, more comfortable and quintessentially British. This means that because Astons are still on the roads, and still functional, the people who buy them must be less concerned with how it goes round a track and more concerned with how it makes them feel.

This is why i love the DB7, not the vantage, just the DB7 3.2L I6. It has been called the most beautiful car of all time by some, it was one of the only Astons to be designed by Ian Callum, it was big, it was more economical than its predecessor, it was slow and lazy, and is my dream car. the fact that you can pick one up for 1/3rd of what it was worth back in the early 90's, get it repaired with Ford bits at your local mechanic, Keep a decent MPG for such a large car, and be sitting behind the wheel of your very own Aston, makes it one of the cheapest Astons to buy and maintain, and it pays you back in style, comfort, bragging rights, ergonomics, and convenience.

So why would I buy a V8?

You would buy a V8 because you wanted one, which you don't seem to, so I don't quite understand the question ?

The 3.2 DB7 isn't a slow or poorly performing car, its just made of straw.

Still IMO the most beautiful car of all time, even if the rear is starting to look a little dated.
