Had S3 for 2 months and done most of 2,000 miles with top off - only rained twice as far as can remember.

Its getting a bit chillier in a morning so tried heater today. Realise have to have fan on (and that works fine) and that swivel air vent down the tunnel needs to be open (it was) but even so, seemed to make little difference to feet. Conversely, hands and dash were toasted.

Is this as good as it gets or am I missing something?

So is it woolly hats and thermals ( or £400+ of sheepskin pilot's jacket?)or has anyone modified their system to improve heating of feet?

Had this vision of crisp, sunny autumn / winter mornings........

S3 has a vent down in the footwell... on the outside aspect of the car.

IIRC heat is taken from the engine and pushed through that way.. so you need a warm engine to get toasty.

A decent hat and jacket are the way forward for winter motoring...

Probably a silly suggestion but you do have both of the heater controls pushed to the right of the control??? If the bottom control (direction) is on the left, this is for the screen/demist only! If so cant help, mine works fine.

Let me see.....

Screen vents - heat: yes. volume: ok but not massive amounts compared to family car.
Footwell vents - ditto.
Face vents by side windows - not a dicky bird.
Face vents on central console - fresh air when car moving. When I say fresh air, I mean constant pelting by dead flies and bits of dried leaves etc.

It's a "feature"...

Handy hint... put some gauze over the end that lets the air in...
