Went for a drive yesterday and notice a grinding/grating noise similar to when a brake pad is worn down to its backing plate. Only happens when the car is moving continously even when brake pedal not used. Just had car serviced and MOT and the pads look fine to me.

Wheel bearing most probably. Was the brake soft before the service by chance?

As said, or perhaps plastic hose come off and touching moving parts?

see how easily it moves if you push it, maybe they actually tried to adjust the handbrake shoes (very rare) and went a bit to far.

I had a grinding noise on mine, especially at slow speed when turning. Turned out mechanic did not torque my rear axle nut properly. Noise was caliper scrapping against rotor as wheel wobbled around. Almost lost the wheel. From now on if I hear grinding, I pull it over and keep it pulled over until I know what it is.

Later upgraded the rear axle nuts, so it wouldn't happen again.
