Type R conversion
Discussion
It's my understanding that many dealers and specialists can offer these - you'll have to look around. It is also worth bearing in mind what type of lights you get.
You can buy the simple "pod" conversion, which is what the newer model Cerbera has, or you can go for the "blended" option - more akin to the Speed 12 light cluster. You also have options on the type of light - personally, I would go for HID on both main and dipped beam.
Fitting the belnded option entails cutting a big chunk of wing out (to a template), fitting the new lights, and a full front end respray (don't go for anything less than this)
The rear lights are easier - just pop out the fiesta(!) light cluster and install the afterburners - I think these are about £400.
Hope this helps

I am contemplating having the type R headlight conversion done and the rear afterburners from that firm near Bristol. Works out just under 1500 pounds has any body had this done and whats concensus on appearance.
I spent a lot of time deliberating over 2/3/4 light conversion, blended, non-blended, etc. In the end I went for the 3 light, blended (from a firm near Birmingham), as I both thought it looked best, and was closest to what new cars come with. If you go for something individual, you could hurt the residuals on your car. I saw a Type-R conversion, and I thought it looked frankly ugly.
There are a couple of different "afterburner" options too. There's one using LEDs, and one using normal lights. (www.quadconversions.com/Fiesta_Mk3.htm). That's on top of the standard 4-light rear conversion.
Whilst looking at all the options, I took pictures of cars having all the different ones done (blended/not, 2/3 lights), with the exception of the Type-R, as that got discounted as soon as I looked at it. I can mail these to anyone that's interested.

Thanks for an honest opinion. Ill have a look at the types in the flesh before i choose anyway. In what respect do you mean ugly, ie. Bulky ?
Thanks.

No problem. I think that looking at them in the flesh is the best option - it helped me make my mind up much quicker. My main gripe with the Type R was that it just didn't seem to "match" the Cerbera. The Cerby is a car with very clean lines, and because it's got a long bonnet, no door handles, etc. it's not "cluttered" in any way. I felt that squeezing 4 lights into such a small area went against this. If you were planning on doing more to the car; grille on the front, side-skirts, etc. then it would probably balance better, but then you'd have a hundred people claiming you'd Max'd a beautiful car!
Forgot to mention... I've just lacquered my brake calipers to red, and am in the middle of fitting a mesh grille on the front. I'll post a couple of pics once it's finished, because it does make it look a load better (IMHO), and not Max Power at all.

JS. Any chance of putting a photo of front end on so as to see your lights.
