I'm in the market for either a Cerbera or Chimaera. Around the 17K mark.

I'm not a TVR Club member (yet).

Where's the best place to look?

I search AutoTrader regularly, are there many more cars advertised in the 'Club' mag?

Any comments/suggestions appreciated.

There are cars for sale in 'Sprint' the TVR car club magazine, here on PH, it's also worth having a word with your local dealers, and tell a few what your after, James at Agger Autosport is always ready to listern and has a good selection of 'stock' and access to other 'good' used cars

Thanks.

I'm already a member of several car clubs including being a Director of the TSSC. From experience I know that the Club Insurance scheme is worth the membership fee alone.

I'm not a novice to Hi-Performance cars, having owned a Supra and currently driving a Modified imported 300zx. So I'm prepared to delver deep in my pocket, but what sort of insurance premiums are you guys paying? Is the club scheme the way to go?

FYI: I'm 35 Full NCB, good PC and only 3pt

Thanks again

Tim

PS: Appologies, no doubt this has been covered 100 times before but I'm unable to search as it throws up an error, probabally because i'm using a Mac!

Direct Line quoted me £606 for a Chimera (any engine size) with 6k miles p/a garaged ... £660 with 12k miles p/a.

They insure my bosses 355GTS for £702 per year...

...might be worth a punt?

I bought my car through the PH classifieds.

Privilege/Direct Line were cheapest for me on the Tuscan, which is used as a daily driver. I've got a similar age/risk profile to you.

Give a chap called Mark Abbot a ring. He works for an insurance broker called Cheam. Mark's a good bloke and pretty resourceful. 0208 649 7617. They only deal in performance and luxury cars.

I bought my Griff via a wanted ad I put on PH classified, had quite a few offered to me and bought the 3rd one that I saw.

A Manning has been the best value for me with insurance.

James Agger put us onto our new Griff, but was away on holiday so we ended up buying it privately from Kevin, so as not to miss it.
