Help, stuck! 530i auto

Key let's me in, all normal lights come on but just does nothing when on the starter turn.

Battery is fine. No soleloid click nothing. Run fine 30 mins beforehand.

Its stuck on a driveway which was lucky. 530i E39

Any help would be great. Soory if this post looks rubbish but its via a blackberry.

It is in Park, isn't it? Foot on the brake?

If everything checks out, it's probably the battery being low. It can still have enough charge to light the dash etc up but not enough to turn the engine.

Gearbox in park or neutral?

Cheers, tried all gear positions when starting and the brakes.
Battery is fine unless its gone from perfect to flat in a 30 min drive. Trying to fnd a spare key now...

My battery died virtually instantly - it could be that, despite working previously. Try a jump start if you can.

Well...it was the key! After more pain than you can imagine I got the spair key to the car and all is fine. I'm guessing the key has one of those near field immobiliser circuits, and that in one key has gone duff (1 point to AdrianW who guess it was that) (Then 2 points removed for telling me from sunny Spain, git). Odd that the door open and closing functions still work....
