dxb335d it is getting a little tiresome. The 335d is not a great car. If it were we would see far more reviews/write ups/media supporting this claim. Get an M3.

Unfortunately dxb335d is utterley obsessed with bhp figures and acceleration. That's all that matters in a car. He also comes across as a right badge snob.

ROFL at this thread!

I'm not a fan of the Audi TT at all I don't think they are very nice looking cars and pretend they are something there not, like a sports car - sorry but they aren't!

To be quite honest *whispers and hopes no one is listening* I'd actually pick a 335d over an Audi TT paperbag oh and please no one tell dxb ...

Don't worry about it, dxb is not trying to convince you his car is good, but himself. People who obsess in this way, are insecure about their purchase, and have to keep telling themselves they did the right thing.

Is this a joke? A 335d is a benchmark car, despite the TTS clearly aimed at a totally different market? Erm.......

If this was an attempt at freelance motoring journalism then it was terrible.

If it was a personal account of a drive in an unfamiliar and new car to the OP. It was terrible.

HTH
So you never test drive a car and compare it to what you drive yourself?

I love these "I would have a tuned (insurance raising, warranty invalidating) more expensive car" over a cheaper stock car" quotes.

Personaly I would have a Manthey Porsche over a stock 335d. See its not exactly the best comparison.rolleyes

Are Audi drivers not badge snobs then too? Surely anyone buying a BMW / Merc / Audi is to some extent a badge snob, as you could probably buy a non german brand doing the job just as well for less money?

I think most of its fair comment. I test drove a 3.0TDI Quattro A6 Le Mans before i bought the 535d and i thought the audi was more 'low rent' than the BMW inside, so i bought the BMW.

I drove an ML, Q7 and X5 and again, couldnt bring myself to buy the Q7.

Its probably not the most objective review i've ever read, but none of us are car journos so its not our job to be.

confused

Every post I have read by this dxb dude always seems to come back to an obsessive, compulsive desire to justify (and try and prove to anyone that will listen), that a 335d is the fastest / best quality / best looking / most desirable car ever to be produced.

Constant 'its faster than an E46 M3, better quality than an Audi etc etc etc' sort of bks...... (ABSOLUTE B0LL0CKS)

I really don't understand the obsession. There are quicker cars, there are better handling cars, there are better quality cars and better looking cars. IMO Audi can do it better on all 4 accounts.

If you'd got a Mclaren F1, a Veyron, a Zonda, Murcielago etc I could understand.

Just take the car for what it is.... a 3 series BMW. Just like a 318, but with a bigger engine.

A 335d is just another mass produced car mate that in a few years will be worth next to fk all like the rest of them. It won't go down in history and it won't be remembered. Yes it is a good car, i'll give you that, but FFS!! rolleyes

Sorry if you think i am obsessed with my car. Maybe i am. I hope you to one day find a really enjoyable car that you want to keep as you think its that good.

On top of that a stock 335d will beat this TTS to 100mph, not 0-60 though.

Anyhow. Untill i get something else. I will compare it to my car. Just wont bother posting on here.

Weird really, Post up similar things on other websites with no negative feedback.

Nobody really gives a st because its a completely different type of car. Yours is a family car, the TTS isn't. The TTS will get more looks from women than a 335d. That is very important. Predominantly men will be impressed by the 335d...

PH is not exactly renowned as a site one visits to get one's ego polished.

One would do better with the laydeez in the TT than the 335d, I should think. The 335d is just a fast tractor (ooarr ooarr). Nice car, but the TT's definitely more interesting, irrespective of the small performance differential.
