Gentlemen its a sad day...managed to (while following a mates Jag XKR) ram into the back of him pulling onto a junction. There was a zebra crossing and some daft bird planted the anchors on as he pulled out, and I pulled out behind him...and into him. But get this I broke the bonnet hindge, now broken fibre glass no damaged painted..manged to get the marks off with polish..All I need is a new grill...few hundred quid... Answers on a post card for the damage done to the Jag?

Was it a MondeoJag or a real one?

Gents...After saying that there was nothing wrong with my car..The paint on the bonnet has started to crack...Does this mean the fibre glass is buggered and I need a new bonnet?

How bad is the cracking?

Fibreglass is a good shock absorber, but that stress must go somewhere - reckon you might well need a new rumble cover

Incorrigble will give lessons no how to repair bonnets I'm sure.. The Problem with the Chimaera Bonnet is getting enough strength back into the curled lip to take the hinge stresses, however for the £600 odd that a new one is going to cost, I'd get a marine repair company to have a look at it..

Cheers,
Matt.

Unlikely that you will need a new bonnet. When a land rover reversed into mine (Twice!) the damage which looked bad was fixed to perfection. However take a look all around the front of the car for stress fractures.

What bit rumbles/gurgles? and what covers it?

Hint - it's the bit in front of the windscreen!

Yes and no, sounds like the glass has de-laminated in places, this will get worse

It can be repaired though (not cheap)

>> Thanks M@ you can buy the repair panel with the captive bolts £20 from your friendly dealer (and at least a couple of hundred quid to get it fitted)
