Brake pads recommendations - 2005 535d Sport (E60)
Discussion
i managed to get my brother a complete set of genuine BMW pads, discs, sensors for £444.11, which is with 30% discount.
you should be able to get some from a factor, the pads themselves are a harder compound which is why they are so expensive, something like £130 rrp, but you could probably get away with the pads from the 530d - i think the caliper is the same.
hth.

One question for you. What milage have the current pads & discs lasted?
Next search around for new OEM parts and get the cheapest price you can, then redo with non OEM parts.
The difference will be that the non OEM will last less miles & not fit as well however IF the £ is significantly less then its worth it.
As for the Service History aspect - well its a consumable so the new owner can replace these if he so wishes - be warned though as you are running what was a £42k new car (now around the £17k mark) and to some buyers the fact your skimping on parts like this may harm your resale value more than the price difference of the pads. Mind you how many people examine brake pad makes?

I would love to meet the person that checks the make of brake pads fitted to a car when buying it.Next search around for new OEM parts and get the cheapest price you can, then redo with non OEM parts.

Please tell me where these £17k 535D's are! This is as expected as they should retain around 50% of their value over 3 years... new £42k therefore 3 years later £21k and thats asking price.
BMW AUC have a number at this sort of price range too.
Ronan,
Pads from GSF are made by Textar and are effectively standard BMW compound etc. I used these on my old 535d, both front and rear, and there was no discernible difference over the previously fitted OE pads.
From memory, a full set was less than £100, split 65:35 front/rear.
