Three weeks of TVR 'S3' ownership......

What a dream....

Now for the Bly nightmare.

Took it to the Hants meet last night all polished and sparkling..! Lots of remarks -
'That's a real bute'
'It looks mint!'

Got up this morning.....some Fr has tipped paint stripper over:-

Bonnet, Wing mirror, Drivers door, Screen surround, Alloys and front wing.

Result - One bloody pissed off TVR owner.

Its eaten right down to the f/glass and more....

Its already with Tom Horsburgh (Frensham), Insurance will hopefully cop the lot as well as my EXCESS.. Lets hope he does a good job.

Why 'o' Why do people do it???

Police as usual next to useless.

Really sorry to hear that mate, it makes my bloood boil, I know how upsetting it can be.

The past two cars I have had(prior to my TIV), both within two weeks of being parked outside my car were keyed all the way along the side to the metal..

I just depair at the mindless vandalism..
Stripper is another thing entirely, has anyone got a vendatta against you or do you think it's just opportunist vandalism?

Ok i will probably get told off by madcop for this but these little shits that do this need their arms broken.....

If i ever caught someone doing that to my car (or anyone elses actually) i would give them such a hiding and face the consequences later on...

The wan*ers need it pouring on there bollo*ks.

Typical british attitude. Not allowed to have something nice. If you were in some parts of europe the kids would protect it like a baby.

Gutted for ya mate. Hope they get caught (wishfull thinking)

Thanks for all your support..

I've not had any trouble with neighbours etc, a bit of family history a few years ago but never to this extent.

My other car was parked behind and the missus car not more than 10 yds away. No other cars in the area have been done.

I'm trying to think positively - A new shiny front end will be the result, how many people can boast having no stone chips on the nose.

I will be looking over my shoulder for the foreseeable future I suppose.

Thanks again

Dave

Shit, that's terrible!

I can only imagine how you must feel; the combination of shock at what's been done to you car and helpless anger at the w*nker who's done this.

No easy solution unfortunately.

To try and make you feel a bit better, think of all those beautifully resprayed parts when it's all fixed.

Out of interest, how come you're using a guy in Frensham? Not the most obvious if you're in Tadley.

Hi Richard

I rang David Batty this morning to book my service and told him the news. This chap in Frensham was recommended by David. I saw some of his work today when I dropped the car off. Looks very good..
All TVR'S in his yard.

Has anyone used Tom Horsburgh..???

Don't sound like the kids... someone must be
trying to get even with you..

You could rent a garage either locally or from the council.

Hope the insurance covers the repair !

sh*t. completely gutted for you mate. After seeing the car last night and saying what an absolute minter it was I was gutted to read this. Must have been a hell of a shock this morning

As you say, try and look on the bright side and the fact the paintwork will be brand new when its fixed.

Gutted for you mate, I know how you feel, happened to me back in the late eighties with my then pride and joy.....!!

Some people just dont like to see others with nice things!!! And do the police care........Do they ! They are only interested in catching speeding motorists....! vandals/real criminals etc.... dont make them money!

Not personally, but I think he does Adrian Blyth's cars before they go on sale? Lots of photos of his work on their web site: www.adrianblyth.co.uk/tvr.asp

If you got a recommendation from David Batty then you should be sorted. Mine went to Harrison and Co. in Farnham for its accident damage repair because they were who N.U. use for TVRs, and I was pleased with the work they did.

At least you know that your guy should have a full appreciation of exactly what work's required.

Good luck!

P.S. There are positive mentions of Tom Horsburgh on these threads:

Here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and I could go on, but that gives you the idea!
