This is the National meeting so will be some spectacular machinery. Including Nick Mann’s Helicopter starter motor (gas turbine) turbo charged 4 wheel drive beast and all the normal British championship entrants. Practice on Sat, Timed runs and top ten run offs on Sun.

...Nick Mann...
This was the man that was responsible for a good friend of mine building a similar turbo charged V8 Morris Minor to the blue and white car that he campaigned so successfully many moons ago. My friend still has the Minor and if I can persuade him to attend on Saturday it would be great if we could see the man himself amongst others in action yes, so fingers crossed and may see you there thumbup

Spoke to my friend Andy and he is off to Scotland on Saturday a.m. so no can do, he is gutted and even asked if Gurston was en route to Scotland ( we are in West Sussex hehe ), BLESS!

Entry fees are bout a tenner more that other places I have been this year but the facilities are superb. All the paddock area is now hard standing, there is a proper toilet block with showers and a sizeable restaurant with licensed bar and the organisation is always super slick.

A look at the website will reveal the class structure but yes there is a modprod saloon class which I think is split at 1400cc and the 2000cc They are also running a road going class if you car still has all it is trim in place that may suit.

Yes the Gurston Championship is still running, again take a look at the web site to see who is leading what. This weekend is not part of the championship, the next meting is and it looks asif it could be quite tight again. Two years running it was won by a margin of 0.01 secs, if it is dry it could be that close again.

That is the same Nick Mann, if you thought the Morris Minor was spectacular then you won’t believe the current car. As well as developing the gas turbine blower he has hooked it up to a very effective four wheel drive system. TopTip if you are standing by the start line, be aware that his exhaust gasses are trouser melting hot and pointing your way.
