Whjat's the best paint out there for the floors? The Beetle will be away for a month or so having a new gearbox, so I have the ideal opportunity to clear the cobwebs away and spruce up the garage!

Far, far cheaper in costco. Like, half the price.

I'm just starting work on building a new garage - we knocked the old structure down this weekend and will start laying the new foundations this week.

Anyone got any tips of things they wished they had done when building a new garage?

Plans include pit with good lighting, scissor lift and air compressor for tools.

The inspection pit should be moved to a more central location IMO

Having it set off to one side will mean you have to shift the car over once you have driven into the garage.....would be a ball ache every time no?

Tiles!

All paints are crap and peel off to a greater or lesser extent IMHO

The pit will be covered when not in use, but we have actually moved it more central on the revised plans so the rear foundations don't need to be as deep.

I looked at garage pride but Costco are nearly £1000 cheaper for the exact same cabinets. Only difference is as your buying two sets at costco to make the package the worktop comes in two pieces.

Richelli's garage is a hard act to follow, but here is mine:

MR2 in the garage by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

Phase 1 isn't quite finished in the picture, workbench, shelves and electrics are still to be installed, but I'm temporarily storing some furniture in there while we do up the dining room, so it's a bit messier now. Phase 2 should be in the spring, that will involve boarding/insulating the ceiling and sorting the floor. There are more pictures towards the end of my build thread.

Not sure if this has been posted before but there is a nice "man" house on Frank Knight at the moment which has

cinema
indoor swimming pool
bar
Table tennis and American pool, table footbal and arcade room
Shooting range shoot (in the house of course so you don't get wet).
Helipad
Tennis court
Squash court because everyone has a tennis court.

So given all this, what's his garage like? Worthy of on here, or falls at the last hurdle?

scroll through the pictures and be the judge

Worthy or not worthy?

Look at that sunset !
Nice ??

Tacky as hell, too american. Taste is not for sale...etc.etc.
+1. Shows money doesn't buy taste. Dreadful pastiche 'classical' design. Like the garage though biggrin
I believe the owner is on here.

To be fair, I've got Costco stuff in my old garage, and Garage Pride in my new one and the quality doesn't compare.

The GP gear is vastly better and well worth the extra IMHO

As far as I was aware the garage pride new age cabinets and the costco new age cabinets are the same cabinets? What makes the garage pride ones better?
