Hi folks. One or two people have been asking if we can do this again.

I've provisionally got something booked but need to see if y'all can make it. Last time it was Corvettes vs Porsches vs TVRs, but it'd be good to have some Aston owners involved.

It would be on the morning of Friday 12th September, with £180 covering:
- bacon butties & coffee
- target rifle shooting at the 1000 yards range(!)
- clays on the Commonwealth Games facility
- black powder pistol (like a musket, but a pistol - great fun)
- lunch
- prize for the winner
- coaching from international shots
- the opportunity for a razz after lunch - last time it was over to Racing Green

Everyone seemed to enjoy it last time. Who's up for it? Please can you let me know in the next couple of days? I'll need to confirm the bookings.

Matt

Is this going on every car forum - I saw the same on the noble forum?

Would love to, but will be in Portugal with the car.

Is this something they offer to the general public at Bisley?

Yes Murph, they do. Check out their website. There are a variety of both half and full days available and you can choose between all sorts of different gun combinations. They do say bookings need to be for a minimum of six people but in my experience if they're not too booked up you can go with less - four of us went and it only cost each of us a tad more than if there'd been six. Failing that I guess if you were willing to pay the full six people total they wouldn't care if there were only two of you. Good fun! smile

Oh, and enjoy Portugal - whereabouts will you be?

Not quite true!

In this case you would be getting international shooters as your coaches.

Additionally, the whole thing can only be done these days as part of an official 'guest day' because of firearms legislation changes a few years ago. They would not arrange one for such a small number of people, since there is a limited number of them each year, but would try and fit you in with a day already arranged for, e.g., a corporate.

This one is intended specifically for petrolheads, with a small hoon afterwards.

Driving from Santander. Doing the Leon to Santiago route initially then down onto the West Coast of Portugal.

Going to stop off wherever seems good and head to Cascais/Lisbon. On way back will go inland through Portugal, up to Salamanca in Spain then home.

Any tips gratefully received smile

Thanks chaps on the Bisley info. Will give them a buzz. Took my dad clay shooting there and had a top day.

Wish I hadn't asked actually - sounds wonderful. GIT! Not been to that neck of the woods so no tips from me I'm afraid.

After a couple of 'best ever' continental jaunts in 430 last year not doing anything this year so doubley envious.

Oh hang on - spending Dec in SA with use of a 599!!!!smile

I'd be surprised if all the coaches you had were internationals and one of them a current Commonwealth Games champion...

Anyway sorry folks - as I think you guessed, not enough people signed up this time for us to be able to run the day.

Can try again in the spring if there's interest, or even in October if you tell me you want to.
