I think they are fantastic cars, the engine loves to be revved, a proper hooligan car. 0-60 in 7.5 secs and about 130 mph. Not as fast as the more modern hot hatches but adequate if driven with conviction.

just make sure you warm it up properly and you should have no problems. Had mine for over two years and think it is the best car i have ever had.

I bought one recently

I LOVE it.
Ive had more exiting cars to drive (VTS) had more comfortable cars (Astra Coupe) had cheaper cars to run (Diesel) but as an all-rounder I cant fault it for the money.

Pretty quick 0-60 7.3
average mpg - 38.1
And any part I have needed has been pretty cheap. Most parts are Rover 25 bits, and as for the MG specific brakes etc. they are reasonable.

Mine has 110,000 (2002) and I paid £1700 for it, and runs great, hardly any rattles etc. and FSH. Just check if the heads been done, going to go sooner or later!
